Kitchen Remodeling Trends for When Ordinary isn’t Good Enough
No one wants the same kitchen as their neighbor or their mother or some random person three states away, right? We knew that you would understand where we were coming from when we mentioned this and that you would want to create a space that has your own personalized touches. Ordinary kitchens are becoming a thing of the past and we want to help you add a little pizzazz to your space with these unique kitchen remodeling trends.
Cabinet colors
Instead of installing basic wooden cabinets or cabinets that are blinding white, we recommend that you choose to install a cabinet in a gray or muted color tone. These soft colors can create a calm feeling in your kitchen, while allowing you to spice things up with pops of colors on the walls and the fixtures.
Use warm colors
Staying with the same color tone throughout your kitchen will add warmth to the cozy atmosphere in the room. These warm colors will make you want to spend more time in your kitchen and your guests will feel the same.
Sleek lines
We recommend keeping the lines in your kitchen sleek and slim, because it will help you keep the space functional for both work and storage.
De-clutter everything
You cannot possibly work in a kitchen that is filled with stuff! We recommend paring down some of the items that you no longer use, including those spices that expired two years ago. Once you have given a few things up, you can then customize your new kitchen so that it fits everything that you are keeping. As you are creating storage for this space, we recommend considering lazy Susans, corner drawers, and specialty pull-out shelves for spices and wine.
Add appliance garages
To keep all those small appliances out of sight, but still within reach, we recommend building appliance garages. That way, when you need your Keurig or KitchenAid mixer, you can simply open the door and pull it out to use, before tucking it away again.
These kitchen trends are not found in too many kitchens, so that means that your kitchen will be quite different from anyone else that you know. However, don’t be surprised if some of your friends and family copy these ideas from you and decide to add these features to their own kitchens in the future.
