This renovation project won a Regional CotY Award for Best Whole House and a Chrysalis Award for Best Green Remodeling Project. It was also featured on Planet Green's "Renovation Nation."

Project scope
This comprehensive EarthCraft home renovation project in the Oakhurst neighborhood of Decatur began as a 900 square foot cottage with two bedrooms and one bathroom built in the 1930s. The original floor plan was dated, inefficient and no longer adequate for the modern needs of a growing family. The homeowners were dedicated to achieving a total green renovation, working with the architect and the Renewal team to incorporate innovative, sustainable building practices, materials and technologies into the design and construction phases. The completed home was featured on the Decatur Holiday Candlelight Tour of Homes.

  • Expanded the area of the house to 2,100 square feet, nearly double the original floor plan
