The Renewal Renovation Process

From the first phone call, Renewal Design-Build is committed to helping you realize the dreams you hold for your home while ensuring that your renovation project meets realistic objectives – that it’s within your budget, aesthetically pleasing, structurally sound and harmonious within its environment.

Home Visit
Every project begins with our renovation consultant meeting you at your home. During this meeting, we will:
  • Listen to your needs and wants to develop a reasonable project scope and budget.
  • Observe the condition of your home and evaluate what likely will and will not work in the existing space.
  • Develop a relationship and match your project goals to Renewal’s expertise.
  • Schedule a time to complete your retainer agreement and meet with a project designer.

Project Development
Signing the retainer agreement engages our renovation team to begin work on your project. We will explore what your finished home could look like and the cost of building. It includes:
  • Documenting the area(s) to be renovated with measurements and photographs.
  • Completing our renovation questionnaires and meeting with your project designer to continue refining your scope and budget.
  • Designing two versions of your project, one focused on scope and one focused on budget. Both designs will be presented in 3D color and include interior and exterior views (as appropriate for the project), as well as budget pricing.
  • Refining your conceptual plan and budget following the conceptual presentation.
  • Establishing a groundbreaking date.
  • Visiting showrooms to select materials, fixtures, and finishes.
  • Refining your conceptual plan and budget following the conceptual presentation.
  • Obtaining necessary permits, surveys, and engineering documents as necessitated by each project.
  • Creating final construction documents (drawings).
  • Meeting with trade partners, your project manager, and your project designer to determine all necessary steps to complete the project.

Construction Contract
Once all decisions have been made and designs are complete, we will present your construction agreement, which requires a 30 percent down payment to order materials. Your project manager and project designer will then:
  • Review the complete scope of work to ensure that all of your selections are complete and documented.
  • Prepare the construction schedule that will be used throughout the construction process.
  • Clarify how the home will be maintained, cleaned and preserved during the construction process.

Construction
During construction, your project manager will be the primary contact for all your questions and ideas. He or she will be on site daily to oversee the entire project. During construction, we will:
  • Update you on your project’s progress, including any changes to the schedule, while adhering to your Guaranteed Renovation.
  • Maintain site security and cleanliness.
  • Present invoices from our accounts manager based on the payment plan in your construction agreement.
  • Review the completion sign-off and completed punch list.

Our Commitment to You
After your project is completed, you will receive a homeowner information kit containing lien releases, maintenance manuals, and any finish selections. Following completion of your project, we will:
  • Ask that you fill out a client satisfaction survey, giving you the opportunity to voice your opinion on the Renewal Design-Build experience.
  • Schedule follow-up visits with your project manager to ensure satisfaction with your project.
  • Thank you for trusting Renewal Design-Build with your project and your home.
